My name is Feroz Khan, and poetic alias is 'Feroz'. I was born in Ratlam M.P., on 26th March 1977. I completed my Ph.D. in Biotech from NCL, Pune.

I started writing shairy in 1998. Initially I started to write something like shairs without any rules, and then started to write short ghazals. I learnt about the rules and pattern of classical Urdu poetry during 2000, by reading some basic articles on the web and in books of poetry. Then I tried to make a ghazal with classical ghazal pattern but after a continuous effort of one month, I could not make even a single proper shair. When I tried to balance the meter (bahar) of shair, I could not bring out the meaning of the sair, and when the meaning was brought out the words in shair got un-weighted (un-metered or out of bahar). I gave up poetry, thinking that it is not possible for me to write a proper sher. But one day, a shair came to my mind, I checked it, I realized, it was perfectly weighted. Then, I thought of making a complete ghazal on that sher. After efforts of a week I made a five couplet ghazal, i.e. 'zindagi ye bata tu kahan mein kahan'.

Now, in that collection, the no of all types of poems is 40. I included only those which are properly structured, as per the rules of poetry.
